Just Relax - MFT Sketch #165

I've been really busy lately, and I was getting into too many challenges. It was starting to stress me out. I've decided to cut back on the challenges. I'm just gonna stick with the MFT challenges since I find I actually like the cards that I create for those challenges more than for other challenges.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out! I used MFT's Serenity Now Pure Innocence stamp set. The purple doily was die cut using a spellbinders die.

You can check out the challenge post HERE, and see the MFT sketch below!

Birdie Get Well Soon Cross Stitched Card - Cardmageddon #24

Here's another cute cross stitch that I mounted onto a card during Cardmageddon. This design came from a whole set. This one is for a get well soon card, but there were similar birdie designs with happy birthday, thank you, congrats, etc... sentiments.

I used card stock in colours that echoed the design: lavender, lime green and orange. The half panel of green that I added I also punched using a Martha Stewart Border punch.

Check out these cute french knots, flowers in the bird's hair!

I used this classic sentiment from Lawn Fawn's on the mend stamp set for the inside of the card.

Sparkly Ribbon Birthday Card - MFT Sketch Challenge #164

Here is a card I whipped together at the last minute! The idea just came to me, and I really like it! I didn't execute it perfectly, but I think I will make this card again and try to align everything better. The sentiment stamp is from My Favorite Things, and the lovely cardstock was cut using a new spellbinders die I just got!

You can check out the challenge post HERE, and see the sketch below!

Lawn Fawn Ornaments Card - Cardmageddon #23

I used Lawn Fawn's Ornate Ornaments stamp set for this card. I stamped the pine leaves with green ink. For the side of the card where the green ornament is, I used my Paper Smooches babe block to reverse the image, this lead to the images on that side not being as crisp.

I stamped the ornaments onto white cardstock using black ink, and then coloured them in with distress inks. For a finishing touch, I added some silver and gold stickles to the spirals.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set, along with some pine cones.

Peace Cross Stitched Christmas Card - Cardmageddon #22

I just love this sampler-style cross stitch design. I think I stitched it in January of last year, right after Christmas 2012. I chose a dark blue colour for the card base and did some simple layering using shiny red cardstock. The stitching was attached to the card using foam glue.

I love the bits of metallic thread!

Keeping the shiny thing going on, I added a gold panel as well as a strip of shiny red cardstock to the inside of the card.

Wine Tags! - Cardmageddon #21

Here are all the wine tags that I made during my Cardmageddon challenge. All of the tags use a wine tag from MFT Let's Toast die-namics set. I normally love love love MFT stuff, but this tag drives me kinda nuts. I don't understand why there is a slit in the neck. If you really needed a slit you could cut your own. I have had the wine tags slip off wine bottles as I'm gifting them. I saw that MFT have put the Let's Toast stamp & dies on clearance, so I'm hoping that means they've got a new wine tag coming out in the near future... In the mean time, I've got my eyes on a wine tag die from Avery Elle...

For the first tag, I cut some labels using some Spellbinders dies. The little tag that I've attached with some twine is also an MFT Let's Toast die. All these sentiments are from the Let's Toast stamp set.

For this wine tag, I die cut and stamped some stockings using MFT's Stitched Stockings stamps and die-namics. I attached the stockings to the tag using foam glue and stamped a sentiment onto the tag.

Here is another tag I made using Stiched Stockings stamps & dies. The stockings were stamped in silver and gold pigment ink, but I did not emboss them.

For this tag, I cut some Recollections Christmas patterned paper slightly smaller than the main part of the wine tag -- I wanted just a little bit of the kraft peeking around it. I cut some labels using Spellbinders dies and stamped a sentiment from Let's Toast. Last, I attached the sentiment to the tag using foam glue.

I die cut and stamped some ornaments using MFT's Christmas Ornaments stamps & die-namics. Cutting the little ornament toppers (the yellow bits) was tedious, but I love how it turned out in the end. I wish that they gave you 5 of those dies so you could do many at once. The ornaments were attached to the tag using --- you guessed it! Foam glue!

For this tag, I stamped a sentiment from MFT with versamark and embossed it using black embossing powder. The snowflakes and swirls were stamped using silver and gold pigment inks, and then embossed using clear embossing powder.

For this last tag, I stamped the sentiment in green pigment ink, the snowflakes in silver and gold pigment ink, and then embossed everything with clear embossing powder. I love that the sentiment was the perfect size to fit on the tag.

I Miss You - CAS(E) This Sketch #64

Another card for a CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. You can see the challenge post HERE, and the sketch is below. I used wPlus9's Fresh Cut Florals stamps and dies for the flowers, stamped with Ranger archival inks. The sentiment I stamped onto cardstock I cut with a spellbinders die.

Colourful Happy Birthday Card - MFT Sketch Challenge #163

Here is a card I made for MFT Sketch Challenge #163. You can check out the challenge post HERE, and see the sketch below. I used some patterned paper from Recollections and a simple flower punch to make the card pop. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things First Place Sentiments stamp set! :)

Cheers! Cross Stitched Beer Card - Cardmageddon #20

This beer cross stitch is one that I finished a while ago, but hadn't gotten around to mounting until I did my Cardmageddon thingie. All I did was cut out the design and use spray glue to attach it to a piece of cardstock. I then mounted the cross stitch to a kraft card base. I added some lime green punched stars for some accents. I did some simple layering on the inside but did not add a sentiment since I don't know what I'll use this card for, thank you, congrats, happy birthday...

Cross Stitched Wedding Card

Here's a simple wedding card that I made for some friends. I added a grey panel to a red card, and then added the cross stitched design to the front using foam glue. I kept it simple and used some Lawn Fawn stamps on the inside. I also made the envelope that I put the card in.

Washi Star Card - Cardmageddon #19

This card goes along with the card in my previous Cardmageddon post. The focal point of this card is the star that was cut out of the panel of 5x5 cardstock covered in washi tape. This card was quick to put together. First I put a 5x5 piece of shiny red cardstock on a white cardstock base.

Next, I attached the star to the card (upside down... whoops!) using foam glue. I like how this card turned out way more than its "partner" card.

I used a sentiment from Lawn Fawn for the inside. I love that font, it's so unique.

Thank You - CTS #63

Here is a simple card I made for a CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. You can check out the post HERE and see the sketch below.

This card was very quick to make. I cut red cardstock with MFT's Rolled Rose die-namics. The center was pretty loose, so I added some stickles for some interest. I tied some twine through a button and glued it beside the flower, to act as a leaf. The "thank you" stamp is from Lawn Fawn's Sophie's Sentiments, stamped onto card stock cut using MFT's Sentiment Strips die.
