One of the best things about card making is all the supplies you "need" ;-) It's so fun trying out new tools and techniques. Here's a snap of some new stuff that I bought recently:
Let's see.... I got a big bag of buttons. I often see them used in other people's cards, and now I've got a chance to experiment with them too! I also got some plastic? wax? flower accents. I think they look super elegant.
I got some nestabilities dies. I've just got a cuttlebug but I'm sure they'll work fine.
I got a jillion colours of Heidi Swapp's color shine sprays and stencils. I'll make a post soon about all the fun I had playing with them!
Last but certainly not least is a bunch of new stamps from There She Goes. I've been lusting after a few of the stamps sets, and a recent sale was the push that I needed to put in my order! I got: Fairy Good Day, No Peeking, Perk Up, Dance, and Sentimental Birthday.
This post is a little late, but here is the birthday card that I made for my mom this year. I actually finished it late in 2012.
My mom loves poppies, so I cross stitched a poppy for her. This was the longest project I've done so far, I'd say it took about 18 hours to complete.
I framed the cross stitch design, added a little belt, some brads, a heart and some glitter alphabet stickers. I'm not super happy with the colour scheme I chose. I would definitely do it differently next time. She loved it though, and that's all that matters! :)
